Announcements for week of December 29, 2008

Hello there

Since our projector was out of commission last Sunday, we'll have to do this "old school". Announcements for this week are:

Happy New Year! The office and school will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2009 for New Year's Day. Open again on Friday.

School of Equipping begins Tuesday, January 20th from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. at the church in various classrooms. This session is 5 weeks long and will be offered again on February 24th. Sessions include: Post Encounter for all those 1st timers to Encounter; School of Worship, this is for anyone interested in learning more about the why's and what's of worship; and a Marriage Enrichment Video Series. Sign up beginning this Sunday at the Info Desk.

End of Year Contribution Statements will be ready to pass out on Sunday. Take a look at them, and if you see any glaring mistakes, please contact Debbie at the church office @ 756-4000 x 304 and she'll fix it.

Video Announcements 12.21.2008

Hello Church Family:

This Friday, December 19th at 6:00 p.m. is our annual All Church Christmas Party. This year will be held downstairs in the new, but still unfinished "dining room". Dinner is provided - we're having Lasagna and all that goes with it! Yum, yum. People have been signing up right and left to show off their many and varied talents at the Talent Show and we have been getting some interesting insight into what people think "ugly" means as they prepare for the "Ugly Sweater contest". There will also be a place prepared for those Holiday Family Photos (you can purchase them at a minimal cost).

For the kiddies there is a party upstairs for the older children (4-12) and the nursery is open and staffed for those little ones (3 and under). So everyone is taken care of and will have a great time. Come one, come all!

Cookie Exchange

The Cookie Exchange is still on for this Saturday, December 13th from 2 - 4 (ish) p.m. at the church cafe. You'll need to bring 6 dozen of your favorite homemade cookies or bars. Please RSVP to Darby at thechef_of_northbend@charter.net or 541-217-0630. Hope to see ya there!

Our Announcements this week are:

Moving The Vision Forward Meeting
Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. We're encouraging everyone in the church to attend this very informative meeting. This year we thought we'd try something new by having an All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feed! alongside the meeting. We're serving crab, of course, a delicious cole slaw, french bread, Tina's world famous (in Coos Bay anyway) clam chowder and an ice cream dessert bar, along with ice tea and coffee. This is not you run-of-the-mill-stuffy-meeting-type meeting, you'll have fun and get to eat too. So get your tickets from your cell leader or at the door for a suggested donation of $15 per adult and $7.50 per child. See ya there!

We want everyone to attend this very special party, Saturday, November 8th at 11 am in the church cafe. We are welcoming Isabella not only to her new adoptive home but also to her church home. What a cutie, and she looks just like her dad, don't you think? Isabella is wearing 18-24 months size clothing and is in need of a second car seat. Announcements for Week of October 26th

Hello!

We have a few announcements for this week:

Baby Shower for Nikki and baby Parker, Saturday, November 1 at 11 am in the church cafe. Nikki and Daniel are rather new to the church so many of you may not know them, but what a better way to make them feel welcome than congratulating them on their new arrival with this shower. Hope you can take an hour out of your day to celebrate with them.

TIME CHANGE!! Next Sunday, November 2nd, is the day to set your clocks BACK one hour! Remember, "Fall Back in the Fall". This is typically the Sunday that a lot of people come in early so, donuts and coffee will be in the cafe awaiting you.

Moving The Vision Foward Meeting/dinner, Wednesday, November 5th @ 7 p.m.
We have this meeting every year about this time. It's a great time to get to know the vision of the church, what we've been doing and what we're planning for the next year. Jason is working on a media presentation, he does such a great job on those. The food is being prepared and the new "dining room" in the basement is all cleaned (though not finished yet) and ready for everyone to come out and have a great time. We're asking that those attending donate $15 each toward the building fund for some immediate projects, but don't let that keep you away. Talk to your cell leader for tickets, and we'll see you all on the 5th.

Announcements for week of October 19, 2008

Good Morning!


Women's Encounter begins this Friday, October 24th through Sunday morning, October 26th. The Bus leaves the church parking lot at 3:30 p.m. It's VERY important that you are on time, or you may be looking for other transportation to Gold Beach! If you are driving, you may check in at 3:00 p.m. Dinner is at 6:30ish (hopefully everyone will arrive before that time) and we'll begin the first session directly after dinner. Be in prayer this week for a tremendous move of God in all our lives.

Dining Room cleanup is in progress now. If you have any time in the next few weeks, we are painting, cleaning, tearing out windows, etc. etc. So, volunteer, it will do you good. And Pastor Ron always takes the workers out to lunch, so there's your incentive.

Moving the Vision Forward meeting on Wednesday, November 5th in the "new" dining area, located in the basement of the church. If you've never been downstairs before, there is an outside entrance on the south side of the building. We have this meeting every year about this time, this year we're asking for a donation of $15.00 ($7.50 for children). This will include a video presentation of the projects we have completed this past year and are projecting for the coming year, and dinner - an All You Can Eat Crab Feed! So come one, come all. It should prove to be a fun and informative evening. You can purchase your tickets from your cell group leader or at the door if there are any left.

Welcome Baby Isabella party on Saturday, November 8th at 11 am in the church cafe.

Shore Acres Tree Decorating, Saturday, November 15th we will be decorating a tree at Shore Acres Park for the season. If you would like to participate, call Maisie Crismon at 756-4000. We only get to do this every other year and it's a really good way to contribute to the community. Thousands and thousands of people attend the Christmas lights every year, and we want Celebration Center to be represented.

Church Christmas Decorating on Saturday, November 22 at 10 am. We need men and women to hang the wreath out front, put up Christmas lights around the building, put together the many, many trees we use, hang garlands, etc. etc. The music will be playing and the coffee and cookies will be hot.

Just Kids will host their annual Christmas Pageant on Tuesday, December 9th. This was the greatest program last year and the church was packed with daycare parents and kids. If you want to be involved in welcoming, parking, etc. please contact Kara or Jason at the church office, 756-4000.

Church Christmas Party, Friday, December 19th in the church dining room downstairs. This year is going to be totally different from the last few years. It's party time this year, so get ready to have a lot of fun. We're even considering a "Talent Show"! Anyway, mark your calendars. The children will also have their own party upstairs.

October 12, 2008.

Last Sunday, we gathered at the Schrunk's house for a very special event in the life of a Christian- baptism. Four people from Celebration Center took the next step in their relationship with God and made public their desire to live their life for Him.

Youth All Nighter.

On Friday, September 26th, the youth cell groups of Celebration Center had our first all night net cell party. Here are a few photos of the pillaging, plundering, and fellowship that occurred.






The funnest part of the evening was the photo scavenger hunt. On the list was "fork a church member's lawn". Hey, it didn't specify what kind of forks!

Our flavor: turkey and rice. Hey, it was organic!




After an intense scavenger hunt (the teams tied...), we settled in for some light-hearted fun. This included slathering a team-member with peanut butter, playing sardines for five hours, and making Mitch puke. It was great, and we all look forward to the next event!

Announcements for Week of October 12

Hello!
These are the announcements for the week following October 12th, 2008:

Men's Encounter Weekend - Friday and Saturday, October 17 & 18. Gold Beach Resort, Gold Beach, Oregon. Registration is closed now and we have the largest number of men attending this Encounter than ever before. The leaders are gearing up for a great weekend, so be in prayer for everyone. This is our time to meet with God, and we're praying that all of our needs are met and that God creates a hunger and a burning desire for more of Him.

Baby Shower - Laura Johnson is expecting their second daughter at the end of the month and Angel Schrunk is hosting a diaper shower next Saturday, Octber 18th at 11 am in the church cafe.

Every Week Goings On

Preservice prayer in the sanctuary from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. Worship Team will be playing live while the church prays for the service. Great time for not only personal prayer, but corporate prayer also.

Early Service - 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Ron in the upstairs Theater room. You'll receive a condensed version of the message. If you are a children's worker, we really encourage you to attend so that you don't miss out on what's going on in the church service. Anyone else is also invited to attend, you can be that much ahead of everyone else with the notes!

Coming Attractions!

Women's Encounter coming up on October 24 & 25th.
Registration is also closed for this weekend, we are maximum capacity with almost 40 women attending. Also at Gold Beach Resort. If you need to ride on the bus, contact Mary Fully at 267-0345. There is a $5 fee for this.

Moving The Vision Forward - Wednesday, November 5th at 6:00 p.m.
Presentation for projects coming up in 2009 and an All-You-Can-Eat Crab Feed for a suggested donation of $15. We're hoping you all attend and support this fundraiser, we're hoping to sell 100 tickets to raise $1500.00. At the presentation, you'll see a video of last years projects that have been completed, and also the things we hope to accomplish this year. It will be fun and entertaining, I'm sure you'll all enjoy the evening.

Welcome Shower for baby Isabella and her new parents, Mehrdad and Julene Gerami on Saturday, November 8th at 11 a.m. in the church cafe. We want men and women to feel free to attend this party to welcome Isabella into her new church family.

Christmas Decoration on Saturday, November 22 at 10 a.m. Sounds early in the year for this doesn't it? But no, Christmas is just around the corner! We always have a good time decorating the church, the music is playing, the place smells like apple cider and cookies, yum, yum! Can't wait. We'll need both men and women, we've got some outside decorations to go up with the lift, etc.

Announcements for Week of October 5, 2008

Here are the announcements for this week:

Early Morning Message
Each Sunday morning at 9 am, Ron teaches an abbreviated message for the all the childrens workers and it's now open to anyone who would like to attend. We encourage you to be in the upstairs theater room in the Administration Building, with your coffee and a donut, and prepare yourself for the morning message.

Pre-Service Prayer
If you are not in the early message class, then be sure to be in the sanctuary at 9 a.m. for the pre-service prayer time. This time is very important to our church. Here we take the time to prepare our hearts to hear from God, pray for the lost, pray for the worship team, etc. We spend time worshipping with the worship team and then Jason leads us in powerful prayer corporately. It's important that you take responsiblity to be a part of this portion of our Sunday morning service. See you there!

Baptism
Sunday, October 12 at 1:00 p.m. we will be at the Schrunk's home for a water baptism service. We have several (at least 5) who have asked to be baptized and this is our last chance this winter before Wayne turns the heat off his pool! I know we joked about having a barbeque at Wayne's house after the baptisim, but it was just a joke. We will NOT be eating at the Schrunk's, you're on your own for that. But, be sure to come over right after church and be a part of this important step in a young Christian's life.

Cell Leaders Meeting
Sunday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. will be a All Cell Leader's Meeting here at the church. This is an important meeting as we are making final plans for the Encounters in just a few short weeks.

WORK
If you have any time to commit to cleaning the basement, please contact the office. We want to clear it out and clean it up before the Moving the Vision Forward meeting on November 5th.
